How did you get involved in The Church at Crossroads?
When I was pregnant with my fourth child, we started going to The Church at Crossroad’s Summer Lunch and after a few times going, started staying for Vacation Bible School. After a few years, I joined the Beloved Community Advisory Board, and now I’m part of the Asset Based Community Development initiative!

What does it mean to you to have this community at The Church at Crossroads?

It means a lot! The best part of having this community and these programs is that my children get to be part of these experiences with me.

What is your favorite program at The Church at Crossroads?

My favorite programs at The Church at Crossroads are the in-person services where we pray together, and the children’s activities where we make dinner, study, and enjoy other programs altogether.

What does ‘building beloved community’ mean to you?

To me, building beloved community means sharing and utilizing resources, learning about God (which is where the beloved aspect comes into play), giving our children something positive to spend their time on, and bringing people together. All of these things combined make our community better as it grows.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

Yes! I can’t wait to see what’s next. I truly enjoy working on the Asset Based Community Development initiative, and I’m eager to see how it grows and evolves as we learn more about the neighborhood. Our children are learning each day, and their surroundings are changing for the better!
